The initiator of this website has been working since 2018 on collecting and conducting extensive research on Ethiopian archives. He focuses on preserving and showcasing Ethiopia’s rich cultural, historical, and artistic heritage. By creating this platform, he aim to connect audiences with Ethiopia's diverse narratives, fostering a deeper appreciation for its contributions to art, history, and culture.

Hiwot Abebe / Creative Writer
Hiwot Abebe writes about visual art. She is interested in the etymology and usage of Amharic slang and is currently studying the connections between contemporary life and its influence on popular culture at Addis Abeba University African Studies graduate program.
Her art writing, published weekly on the Reporter, has been a critical voice coming from the visual arts scene in Addis Abeba. Compassion drives her reflective and analytical process, thinking with the artists as she conducts long and in-depth conversations, studio visits, and exhibition reviews. Her texts appear as a living archive, mapping the city’s elusive and ephemeral contemporary art happenings. She works collectively nurturing and sustaining community spaces such as a writers’ group in Addis. In her professional and personal spaces, she casts networks making incisive connection to propel forward projects in arts and literature sphere.
She’s co-founded @aradaslang a community sourced slang terms often used in Addis. She also dedicates her time to Setaweet, a contemporary feminist movement

Million Belete / Photographer
A dedicated photographer and contributor to the art archive website plays a vital role in preserving the artistic heritage. Through his expertise in photography, he document and archive significant number of artists, artworks with precision and care. he also assist in organizing and categorizing the archive, ensuring materials are accessible and systematically arranged. Additionally, he provide technical support by uploading content to the platform, optimizing images, and maintaining digital standards to enhance user experience.
