born in 1995 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is a contemporary artist renowned for her vibrant abstract tapestries. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from the Ale School of Fine Arts and Design at Addis Ababa University in 2021 and holds a diploma in Sculpture from Teferi Mekonnen College.
Solomon's work intricately weaves natural materials such as jute, cotton, and sisal, reflecting themes of freedom and growth inspired by nature's cycles and human emotions. Her innovative approach not only honors traditional textile arts but also emphasizes environmental sustainability by repurposing biodegradable materials, including discarded jute sacks commonly used for coffee export in Ethiopia.
Since 2019, Solomon has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions both locally and internationally. Notable showcases include "Woven Sanctuaries" at Rele Gallery in Los Angeles (2024), "African Landscapes - Past and Present" at Strauss & Co in Cape Town (2024), and "Magical Spirits" at Post Art Gallery in Addis Ababa (2023). In 2023, she completed a residency with Silhouette Projects in Kampala, Uganda, further enriching her artistic practice.
