Bisrat Shibabaw was born in Addis Ababa in October, 1965. After finishing her high school education, Bisrat studied for her Diploma at the Addis Ababa University School of Fine Arts
and Design, where she also currently works as an Instructor. She completed herMaster’s Degree at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in Russia. She has displayed her work at
numerous solo exhibitions, in venues such as the Alliance Ethio-Francaise and Lela Art Gallery. She has also participated in several group exhibitions around the world. Besides being showcased at numerous local venues, her work has also been
exhibited at the Harn Museum of Arts, USA (2007), as well as in China and France.
