Abyalew Assefa

Abyalew Assefa has received many accolades during his 17-year professional career as an artist. He graduated with Great Distinction in Graphic Art from the Addis Ababa University School of Fine Arts and Design in 1991. He attended the Pied Crow School in Kenya where he studied Illustration and Magazine Publishing. He was declared Environmental Ambassador of Lake Awassa by the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People's Region (SNNPR). Over the years, his work has graced over 25 solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions. His recent exhibitions focus on themes such as Light and Shadow, Reconciliation with Nature, Casual and Passion for Light. The themes in his work reflect his concerns and philosophy regarding art, humanity and the natural environment. His latest solo exhibition revolves around the theme of Love and Sustainable Environment.
